Our first big storm of the season

Yesterday we had a big rain (2") and wind (up to 50 MPH).  One of the neighbor across the street's redwood trees came down...on the power line.  Power was off from 2:45 pm to midnight.  PG&E responded about 5 pm to cut the tree off the wire and to remove the wire that was dangling in the street, but had to leave for other emergency work before restoring power.  Ray fired up his putt putt generator and we had a lamp and tv for a couple hours.  I put battery operated candles in key rooms and they worked great for navigating through the house in the dark.
